Top 5 Designers behind Danang landmark locations

Hi all! Sorry for the big long break as I was travelling actually I am still travelling and these days in Thailand. So before heading to Vietnam, I thought about writing about top design houses in Danang, which lies in central Vietnam with lovely beaches. Seriously, you should visit this place with wonderful scenery and beaches are less crowded at this time of the year.

So if you are planning to start a resort or spa or hotel then who should you contact for help to get designs done. I have compiled a list of designer or created/designed impressive landmarks or spances in Danang, Vietnam. So here goes the list:

  1. Bill Bensley (designed InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort)

Harvard-educated, Harvard-educated and Bangkok-based architect, describes his unique and irreverent design philosophy as Lebih gila, lebih biak, Indonesian for “the more odd, the better.” Bensley has applied his singular vision to over 180 properties in 30 countries and won countless accolades. 

Bill Bensley’s relationship with the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort began back in 2005, when Sun Group chairman Le Viet Lam approached him with an offer to design the most ambitious resort Vietnam had ever seen.

2. Greg Norman Golf Course Design (designed Danang Golf Club)

Danang Golf Club’s Dunes Course is the first true links style course in Southeast Asia. It is designed by Greg Norman, who was himself an accomplished golf player. During his prime, he won 86 international titles, including two British Opens. Over the past quarter century, GNGCD has created more than 70 courses on six continents.

3. Celia Chu Design (Designer Hyatt Regency Danang Dining Halls)

Celia Chu led the design of three dining spaces in the Hyatt Regency Resort Danang. She got the inspiration after touring ancient Vietnamese palaces, local markets, and beautiful local communities.

4. Vo Trong Nghia Architects (designed Naman Retreat ‘the Babylon’)

The concept of resort is providing physical and mental treatment for the long stay guests by the nature friendly environment and healthy activities. The resort was designed by harmonious mix of greenery, natural stone and bamboo.To accommodate guests with abundant green landscaping area with diversity of space and privacy, 3 types of accommodation: Beach villas, Bungalows and Hotel building are prepared.

5. HALO (designed Le Meridien, Danang)


Le Meridien is one of many new international resort developments coming up along China beach in central Vietnam. HALO was responsible to prepare the interior design of both a residential tower and villas, along with a hotel tower and resort villas.
